Sam Shootz is a concert and event photographer, with a big love for live music and capturing the
energy that comes with it. Although she is based in The Netherlands, she hopes her passion for
photography and music will take her all over the world. Her style is focused on dynamic imagery,
vivid colors, and a little retro touch. Making her creations lively, warm and powerful.
She first picked up a camera when she was 14 years old and from that moment on she knew
photography was something special. Still, it took some time before she turned photography into
a career. After getting a Bachelorโs degree in Biomedical Research and starting a masterโs in
Neurobiology, she realized she didnโt want to choose between science or creativity and found a
way to do both. This lead to her starting as a concert and event photographer.
โConcerts, festivals, and raves all have one thing in common: the ability to be fully present,
immerse yourself in the music, and forget every worry youโre carrying in that moment,โ Sam
said. Her goal is that her work will โinspire some, bring back memories for other, and will let you
relive the excitement and freedom that concerts giveโ.
Sam discovered Ratchet through TikTok and was immediately drawn to their unique creative
energy. She reached out when the band put out a call for photographers and ended up shooting
their show at Nobel in Leiden. โIt was such a fun night. They were amazing on stage, but what
really stood out to me was their creativity. The storytelling, the setup, even the handmade merch
โit all felt really intentional,โ Sam said. โCapturing this felt like an honor, and I hope to see
more
of them in the future.โ
