Singer-songwriter, producer and visual artist Rob Feather's creativity is like an itch they'll never
finish scratching. Still, they try their hardest by mangling synths to sound like distorted guitars,
sampling computer data, recording microphone feedback, rummaging through old sample libraries,
trying to ignore perfectionism and sometimes doing vocals in a single take. Inspired by artists like
Aphex Twin, Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, SOPHIE and many more, Rob Feather's music
cannot simply be described as a single genre or music style, and it seems to even be different with
each song, yet still it's all indescribably theirs.
Being very interested in electronic music from a young age, Rob Feather started making their own at
age 10 and tried out all kinds of subgenres to see what would fit, but their newfound driving force
sprung out of feeling burnt-out chasing social media engagement and growing out of the cutesy and
safe EDM electropop from the debut album. More recently, Rob Feather has been deconstructing their
music and molding it into something that better fits their own feelings, writing about growing up on
the computer, the dissociation, online culture, consumerism and trying to navigate an increasingly
difficult and polarizing society. Whatever's happening though, Rob Feather always endures and keeps
creating music that's unlike anyone else's.
"I had initially found out about Ratchetโs music through TikTok around 2022 or 2023, around the time
I was really active on there too. Incidentally he had found out about my music too in the same way
even though we hadnโt spoken to each other yet, so it was really interesting to find out we were
both fans of one anotherโs music. Since then weโve crossed paths multiple times, like when one of my
then-classmates Jintra collaborated with Ratchet and when we met up at a Panchiko concert in
Amsterdam. Ratchet invited me over to play a show together in Leiden after I released my โProof of
Conceptโ EP, and it was an incredibly fun experience. I'm looking forward to working together more
in the near future, playing shows and making music together." -Robin
