Born and raised in Russia, Daniel Usciuc โ known artistically as paragvaii โ is a multidisciplinary
creative currently based in Amsterdam. Since relocating to The Netherlands in 2021, heโs been
carving out a unique space for himself at the intersection of music, visual storytelling, and
underground culture.
Currently in his final year of Media studies at the University of Amsterdam, Daniel is already
making his mark well beyond the classroom. By day, he supports himself as a barista at
coffeecompany. By night, he switches hats โ becoming a martial artist, musician, and visual creator.
Having recently taken on the role of kickboxing coach, Danielโs passion for sharing knowledge and
energy extends into every aspect of his life.
While his roots in music run deep โ starting with dubstep experiments back in 2012 and evolving into
rap and beat production by 2017 โ Danielโs creative vision doesnโt end there. Heโs collaborated with
US-based rappers like AntWave, Tee Benji, and Luh Fat, and more recently, begun releasing his own
material under the name paragvaii, blending hyperpop, EDM, and distorted rap into an aggressive,
boundary-pushing style. But itโs not just about sound โ itโs about story, aesthetic, and energy.
His creative expression also flows through a camera lens. Daniel occasionally documents life through
his vintage JVC handcam โ capturing raw, lo-fi footage with a nostalgic edge. This side of him came
into the spotlight during a collaboration with fellow artist Ratchet. The two originally met on the
set of a BOB commercial shoot and stayed loosely in touch. When Daniel saw that Ratchet had an
upcoming show in Leiden, he reached out with an idea: film the show and backstage moments on his
handcam. The result was a dynamic hour-long video that blends performance with authentic
behind-the-scenes moments, showcasing Danielโs sharp eye for atmosphere and rhythm โ not just in
sound, but in visuals too.
Whether through music, martial arts, writing, or filmmaking, paragvaii represents a new generation
of creatives: self-made, genre-fluid, and constantly evolving.
