Ratchet - Noisy Dream

A crying boy
Came back from school
Sat down and scrubbed his knees on the pavement
He didn't stop until his limbs fell off
Desperately working until the job was done
He cried and cried
One of his friends heard him and grabbed the saw
To quickly finish the job
Now stuck on the sidewalk
Next to a busy road
He started counting cars
But slowly and surely
The time flew by
And his eyes were already closed

A noisy dream
I believe I can see
Shadows casted upside down
Mirrors reflecting sides of your house

And oh
Oh, in this dream I cast a spell
But you're still not here

And maybe you could dream of me
And in my dream, I would see you
And maybe you'd walk back to me
But when I close my eyes
It's not what I see

He opened his eyes again
And looked at the cars
The rest of his friends joined
They dared the boy to count as many cars as he could
And while counting, it started to rain
Everybody rushed inside
But he was still stuck in his place
He didn't stop counting to impress his friends
And waited for them to come back
Days went by
And yet he didn't even notice that the garden hose was missing
Still alone in his place
He counted
But his friends
Had already long forgotten about him
